What is Reiki Good For?

Many people I connect with are very intrigued by Reiki but don’t fully understand what it is or what it can be used for. So, let’s dive in!

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a powerful Japanese technique used to promote stress reduction, relaxation and healing.

It is a healing energy that goes through me to you. Via multiple Reiki trainings, I was attuned to Reiki three different times at three different levels – Level I, Level II and Master.

Reiki energy goes where it’s needed and is never harmful, so throughout the session I will be guided to the areas of your body that need Reiki.

I personally am guided by my intuition/intuitive messages I receive, the energy I feel from your body as well as physical sensations within my own body.

What is Reiki Good For?

Your experience with Reiki will be dependent on your needs, current situation, what you’re available to receive and handle at that moment, what needs to be released, etc.

Clients report (both during and after their session) emotional, energetic/spiritual, physical and/or mental experiences and release.

Emotional

I find this is my biggest work with clients in Reiki sessions. I’ve received intuitive messages and visions about clients’ past sexual abuse, trauma, physical abuse, relationship dynamics, and more.

This means that the trauma, pain and energy from those situations are still being held within the client’s body and energy field. Emotions are energy and if they are suppressed rather than processed and released, the body holds onto this.

Working with me in a Reiki session allows us to move, process and release this energy via Reiki and then processing together in conversation after the Reiki healing. This is the combination of both energetic and clinical support and experience I provide to my clients.

Energetic/Spiritual

As mentioned above, emotions, trauma and pain are energy. A Reiki session can help move, release, process and heal these experiences.

In addition, many clients have reported opening up more spiritually in and after sessions. Clients have been visited by ancestors, spirit guides and their higher selves, allowing them to connect to their own spirituality, intuition and inner compass in beautiful, powerful ways.

Physical

People also come to me with physical things that may have an energetic or emotional root cause that we need to identify and work through. For instance, as I came to a woman’s sacral chakra (reproductive organs), my own stomach began mildly hurting. That meant this area needed attention. After the session I explained this situation to the client and she confirmed that, just a week prior, a doctor had told her that because of hormone issues she would not be able to have any more children. With Reiki we can begin bringing more balance to that area and work towards identifying any emotional/mental blocks that may be contributing to this.

Mental

Talk therapy can only go so far. In a Reiki session, we’re able to tap into your subconscious energy to bring blocks and patterns into your awareness that you may not be able to tap into just from talking things out.

Don’t get me wrong, therapy is so lovely and so valuable. AND, bringing the energetic, intuitive components into a session, helps us tap more deeply into what’s going on with you that your mind may not be letting you see. For instance, unhealthy romantic relationship patterns you’re stuck in and where that’s coming from.

Virtual vs. In-Person

I would say about 95% of my sessions are held virtually - live via Zoom.

I understand that people have concerns about the validity or effectiveness of virtual sessions; however, virtual works the same as in-person.

Energy is energy and is not bound by needing to be in the same room as each other.
